Deployed APIs

The Configure APIs and Application > Deployed APIs link in the API Management menu opens the Deployed APIs page, that helps you view and manage your APIs within API Management. It provides quick links to edit the API or authentication method within integration.

The Deployed APIs landing page allows you to view your Deployed APIs by Name, Gateway, or URL and provides the name, folder location, and description of the API Service/Proxy component. Clicking Edit this API opens a new window with the API Service/Proxy component open in Integration. APIs are searchable by API name or GUID, the environment, or API Gateway.

Managing Deployed APIs across branches

With branching support in the Boomi API Gateway, you can seamlessly manage API Services and Proxies deployed from any branches in Integration directly within the API Management pages. The Branch drop-down allows you to filter and manage APIs across multiple development branches. The Branch drop-down and Branch Name column are visible on API Gateway pages only if the branching feature is enabled for your account.

On the Deployed APIs page, you can view all the branches available on the Build page in Integration for your account. By default, the Deployed APIs page displays the default branch from Integration. After you select a branch from any APIM page—such as Manage APIs, Deployed APIs, or API Lifecycle—that branch automatically appears as selected across all APIM pages during your session. This propagation is limited to the APIM environment and does not affect the branch selected in Integration.

Selecting a specific branch updates the API list to display only the APIs associated with that branch. Any search performed on the page applies only to the currently selected branch, ensuring that results remain contextually relevant.

Deleting a branch removes that branch and its associated components from all API Gateway pages, including Deployed APIs. However, components from deleted branches remain deployed and accessible directly through their endpoints. This behavior prevents downtime for actively used APIs, even after the branch is deleted. APIs from deleted branches remain accessible until you explicitly undeploy them.

To redeploy these components, go to Deployments, open any deployed component, and the system redirects you to the Build page. Once saved, the component is stored under the default branch. You can then redeploy it from the default branch, making it visible again on the Deployed APIs page.

If the Branching feature is disabled for an account, the Branch drop-down and Branch Name column are hidden. In this case, the API Gateway pages display APIs from all branches.

If you navigate to any of the API Gateway pages from the platform where the Branching feature is not available, the page opens using the default branch from Integration. You can then change the branch selection as needed.

Deeplinks or bookmarks open the page based on the previously selected branch, ensuring that the displayed APIs remain correctly filtered.

APIs by Name tab

The APIs by Name tab organizes your Deployed APIs by saved API component name and whether the API is an API Service component or an API Proxy component. All of the deployments for the specific API are grouped under collapsible or expandable sections.

info

The API name is the most recently saved API component name, even if you have not deployed the API component since changing the name. Clicking View on a specific deployment includes the Published API Title from the last API deployment, even if that field was changed in the API component since the most recent deployment.

The following information is provided for each deployed API.

Details Click View to learn the API Service or Proxy component details to access the Swagger Visualization Portal for API components with REST endpoints and the GraphQL editor on the Developer Portal for API components with GraphQL endpoints.

info

The Published API Title field on the General tab uses the text from the last API component deployment, even if a more recent Published API Title exists in the API component.

Environment Shows the environment name from Integration to which the API Service/Proxy component is attached.

Gateway Indicates the API Gateway. An API Proxy component must be deployed to an environment that is attachd to an API Gateway.

Branch Indicates the branch from which the API is deployed.

API Version Shows the value specified in the API Service/Proxy component's Published Version Number field within Integration that is a user-specified value on the General tab.

Authentication Specifies the authentication method for the API deployment. The API can use internal runtime-based authentication for deployed APIs that are on an environment without an API Gateway, API Key controlled authentication (for deployed APIs that are attached to an environment with an API Gateway), or an authentication provider. Click on the text in the Authentication field to set up an authentication provider.

Plans Specifies the number of plans used with the API deployment. An API deployed on an API Gateway or an API that uses an authentication provider must have at least one plan associated with it. Click on the text in the Plans field to add a plan to the Deployed API.

Custom URL? Specifies whether a base path of a deployed API on an API Gateway is customized. If a deployed API is deployed to an environment without an API Gateway or if the deployed API does not have any endpoints, you cannot specify a custom URL. If the field has Yes or No specified, click the text in the Custom URL field to modify the custom URL settings.

Execution settings Execution settings define how an individual API behaves when deployed to the API Gateway. By default, these settings are controlled at the API Gateway level and apply to all APIs deployed on that gateway. If you need to configure unique runtime behavior for a specific API, you can override the gateway’s default execution settings. This allows you to set API-specific parameters such as maximum concurrency, timeout duration, and other runtime limits. When you enable the Override Gateway Settings option, the system applies your custom execution settings only to the selected API. The rest of the APIs deployed to the same gateway continue to follow the global gateway configuration.

Status Indicates whether the API can be reached on the API Gateway or the runtime or whether it requires additional configuration before it is operational.

For APIs that are deployed to an environment that contains an API Gateway, any API that indicates a “Requires Configuration” status will not be available on your Developer Portal until the configuration is complete. To complete the configuration, correct the indicated errors in the row. When the text in the Status column reads “Sent to the Gateway,” this deployed API is available on your Developer Portal.
